Ec•cle•si•ol•o•gy

Ecclesiology, coming from the Greek words ecclesia (meaning assembly) and logos, (meaning word), is the study of the doctrine of the Church. While the perfect body of Christ, comprising all that have been or will be redeemed through union with Him, is yet to be fully assembled, particular local churches are even now called to represent Him to a watching world. This responsibility means that we are not free to “do church” just any way that we choose. We must rather seek to ever more closely submit both our teaching and practice to the leadership of Christ. His Word, not culture or convenience, must always have both first and final say.
