Chapter Eight
It is from this chapter that the title of the book comes. At her very lowest point, when everything, even the feeling of God’s presence, was gone, Darlene learned the greatest lesson of all. Our faith rests directly on the character of God. Not only does it not rest on our circumstances—she had learned that lesson long before—but it also does not depend on our emotions. God is always faithful. His character, not our feelings or situation, guaranties His promises.
