Our Beliefs
Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Scriptures reveal God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God’s plan and purpose in all ages.
Triune God
There is only one living and true God; in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, equal in divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices. God is sovereign over all things and continues to be involved with the affairs of his creation.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God. He was manifested in the flesh being born of a virgin, making it possible for him to unite his divine nature with the human nature. He lived a life of perfection without sin, and laid his life down for us that we may have eternal life through him.
Holy Spirit
From the very beginning of creation we have an indication that the Holy Spirit’s work is to complete and sustain what God the Father has planned and what God the Son has begun. After Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit is now the primary manifestation of God among us. He convicts the world of sin, of judgment and of righteousness, and he bears witness to the truth of the Gospel through the preaching of God’s word. He gives gifts to believers as he wills for the edification of the church body.
Sin
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Now all mankind is totally depraved, having inherited a sinful nature, is bent toward sinning, and has become sinful in thought, word, and deeds.
Eternal Salvation
Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary payment for the sins of the whole world. He physically arose from the dead and then ascended into Heaven. We must repent and believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ; his death, burial, and resurrection to receive of his grace and mercy of salvation, hereby is the means of forgiveness of our sin. The Holy Spirit then keeps the believer eternally secure in the salvation of God.
The Church
The local church is a called out assembly of baptized believers, banded together for edification, exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission; preaching the Gospel to every creature.
End Times
Jesus Christ will one day return to us in like manner that he ascended into heaven, bodily, personally, and visibly. The dead in Christ shall rise first, and then the rest of the living saints shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. Christ shall reign for a thousand years in righteousness until he has put all enemies under his feet. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in the fullness of joy with the Lord.
